Name: Empower Network
Owner: David Wood and David Sharpe
Price: $25 to start but the “upgrade” version add up to thousands of dollars
Overall: (1 / 5)
Date when it started: 2011
Verdict: Pyramid Scheme
Before explaining the details of the Empower Network, let me tell you something you might not have possibly knew about the owner of the Empower Network, David Wood.
Who is David Wood? – Is he a Con Artist?
If you don’t know who David Wood is, he is the guy that proclaims that he went from homeless to a multi-millionaire because of the Empower Network. But is that really the truth? Well apparently not, if you just do a little research about his past you will find out why. David Wood was already “extremely successful” long before the Empower Network. He had already made six figures selling vitamins for Amway. If you have never heard of Amway before, it uses a similar type of business model like the Empower Network (Pyramid Scheme).
The words below are from David Wood himself. You can read the full story here.
This information does not correspond to the video that he used to advertise himself at empowernetwork.com
That’s not all. Did you know that one of the top affiliates of the Empower Network, is Vick Strizheus.
If you don’t know who Vick Strizheus is, he is a convicted con artist that had avoided a sentenced to a total of 90 days in jail and 5 years of probation for Insurance theft in 2009.
Vick Strizheus is also the current owner of Project Breakthrough. Another similar “business opportunity” just like the Empower Network.
This are all facts/evidence I found online. David Wood “supporters” think otherwise though. Why? Because they are a part of the inner circle. So what is the inner circle? Well, once you have “proven your worthiness” you are admitted to the inner circle. You become one of the privileged few. You get to meet The Inside Man. And you will be charmed right out of your boots by this character in the play because he knows exactly how to match your interests.
Do you still want to believe in a guy who doesn’t speaks the truth, has previous records with another fraudulent company, and even works with a ex-con artist?
So, what is the Empower Network about? The picture below is from their website.
The Empower Network is an online “business opportunity” that promises their members to make a ton of money without experiencing the most common challenges that most individuals go through when they start an online business. They provide marketing training, information products and digital services like a blogging platform called Blog Beast. The affiliate program pays commissions that allow members to create a substantial online income from home. It claims to help you make $3000 the first month and potentially make up to $25-$3000, “Risk Free, Guaranteed!”
So, how can you earn from the Empower Network?
Firstly, you have to pay $25 for the basic membership for the Blogging Platform, “Blog Beast”. I don’t know why you have to pay $25 for a blogging platform when there are WordPress, Tumblr or Blogger where you can sign up for free.
And then, you will have to pay an affiliate fee of $19.99 if you want to promote their “products”. Why should a company ever ask you to pay if they want you to promote their products or services? Doesn’t make any sense to me.
So, what exactly are the “products” inside the Empower Network?
1. The Inner Circle Membership – $100 per month
This “inner circle” membership gives you access to some audios. It contains mostly information about the Empower Network founders, team leaders and members.
2. The Costa Rica Mastermind Intensive – $500
This is a video course that cover most of the concepts that change the way you approach your audience and some “advanced marketing strategies”. Probably outdated.
3. The 15k Formula – $995
This is more technical and teaches members how to market online.
4. Masters Retreat – $3,500
This is another typical high ticket conference event that often provides very little value.
In summary, if you want to earn the full commissions of all of these products, you have to purchase every single one of them. It would add up to a total of $5040 + a monthly recurring fee of $100. That’s far from the “$25” they had advertise in the beginning. It is basically some overprice “trainings” to rip people off.
The Truth About The Empower Network?
It is a Pyramid Scheme, period. Ethan Vanderbuilt (online’s scam buster) explains it all.
This is the commission structure and income statistics I screenshot from the EN on their income disclosure page.
What it says here is that out of all the Affiliates in the Empower Network, 92% had make an average income of $55 per year and only 1% had make an average income of $4188 – $680,964 per year. So, who are the 1%? David Wood, David Sharpe and the affiliates that joined the Empower Network in it’s easiest peak. Come on, what could you possibly do with $55 a year? That’s less than working at MacDonald’s for a day.
BBB has also receive a total of 167 complaints for the Empower Network.
Finale Verdict: Definitely a Multi-level Marketing scam, aka Pyramid Scheme.
The Empower Network will eventually collapse because of it’s business model. For the company to survive, they would constantly need to recruit more and more members each time to feed the top of the “Pyramid”.
After reading my post, I would appreciate if you share this with anyone you know who is going through the Empower Network. You will be saving more lives from this scam. This is our fight. To prevent anyone else from being victims and to shut down this fraud. If you have lost money to this scam, please contact the FBI here www.ic3.gov
Lastly, if you have gone through the Empower Network, you can share your experience with me down below! I would be happy to talk to you. 🙂
“All scams include an enticement for someone to fall for the scam. Without an enticement, no one would fall for a scam. Many times scams are so obvious. Scams always start with an enticement of free money, free vacations, wealth, and power, but they are vague or do not mention specifically how you will get the objects of your desire. This has all the markings of a scam”
The Reality Of Making Money Online.
So, is it really possible to make money online? Of course there is, so many people have done it! But when it comes to making money online, there’s no such thing as “get rich quick” or “make money fast”. Why do so many Online Marketers and Internet Entrepreneurs still try to convince you to think otherwise? Because they make money by selling “false hopes” to people. Having financial freedom online takes time and effort. And you don’t have to invest thousands of dollars just to start an online business. You just need a website, a domain name, a website host and some tools to help you get started, that’s all.
